Lansing Street

Lansing Street in Mendocino retains the old, wood two-story structure which exemplifies the days early in the village.  The evenings horizontal rays of sunlight reflects off the seas in the brilliant light.  If only for a short time, one cannot avoid the dazzling light on the facade.  This artist waited for that moment when the drama was most intend.  The sharp contract of the deep, rich, saturated tree shapes with the intense white light on the structure, is a concept important to the visual impact of the painting.
